Smith has been the county treasurer since 2009. She received a master’s degree in engineering from North Carolina State University. She has been a project engineer, department head in engineering and director at various organizations. She previously served as Monroe County chief deputy auditor and financial director.
Bridges studied accounting and bookkeeping at IU and is completing State Board of Accounts auditor training. She worked as Monroe County’s lead tax distributor and payroll and personnel administrator.
Saulter graduated from the Kelley School of Business with an accounting degree in 1975. He spent 23 years as an Indiana State Board of Accounts field examiner.
Hatfield, 72, is seeking his first term in office. He has 47 years of experience as a mortician and formerly served as Chief Deputy Corner in Howard County and district director of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association. He has been a Monroe County resident for 31 years.
