Peggy Welch
Welch graduated from Mississippi College in 1977 with a BS in education. She completed prerequisites for nursing school at IU and later earned an associates degree in nursing (RN) from Ivy Tech Community College in 1995. She has worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative aide, as a substitute teacher, a childbirth educator, a probation officer and served as the first director of the Monroe County Community Corrections Program.
James (Jim) Mann
Mann graduated from Indiana State University in 1987 and later earned a masters in social science education in 1995. He has taught at the middle, junior high and high school levels. Mann also has been a night-school teacher and a coach of various academic teams. He has been nominated for the Golden Apple Award 20 times.
Teresa Harper
Harper did her undergraduate degree at IU-PUI and later studied at the IU School of Law at Indianapolis and was admitted to the Indiana State Bar in 1982.
Joe Donnelly
Donnelly was born on Sept. 29, 1955. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1977 and earned a law degree from the Notre Dame Law School in 1981. Donnelly ran a small printing company before serving on the State Election Board from 1988-1989 and on the Marian High School school board from 1997-2001. His first experience with the U.S. Congress came in 2006 when he was elected to represent Indiana's 2nd District. He is currently finishing his third term in office after reelections in 2008 and 2010. In relation to his congressional work, Donnelly is a member of the Blue Dog Coalition and sits on two committees in the areas of financial services and veterans' affairs.
Keith Klein
Klein graduated from IU in 1966 with a BS in radio-tv. He earned a masters degree in mass communication from IU in 1967. He currently is the vice-president of the Monroe County Community School Corporation.
Rupert Boneham
Boneham is a community organizer and founder of the mentoring program Rupert’s Kids, which provides mentoring and educational programming to at-risk Indianapolis youth. He also created the Park Adoption Program, which provides a work project for young people in his mentoring proram. He also owns production company Tournament Towers. Boneham previously worked with young offenders in the court system. He was also a contestant, and prize-winner for fan favorite, on the reality show Survivor.
Mike Pence
Pence is a native of Columbus, Indiana. He graduated from Hanover College in 1981 with a degree in American History and earned a degree in law from Indiana University School of Law in 1986. He is a former president of the Indiana Policy Review Foundation. Pence started a statewide radio show broadcast on Network Indiana from 1994 to 1999. From 1995 to 1999, Pence hosted a Sunday morning television show. Pence was elected to the US House of Representatives in 2000 and served six terms. He served as House Republican Conference Chairman, Chairman of the House Republican Study Committee, on the House Agriculture and Small Business committee. He served on the House Judiciary Committee and Vice-Chairman of the Subcommittee on the Constitution, and on the Foreign Affairs Committee where he is the Vice-Chairman on the Subcommittee on the Middle East and South Asia.
Matt Ubelhor
Ubelhor has worked in the mining industry for 35 years, including 22 years in his current position at Peabody Energy. His professional training includes courses in human resources, public relations, environmental science and finance.
Randy Barrett
Barrett is a former teacher, coach, public school administrator and superintendent. He served six years on the Indiana High School Athletic Association Board as Educational Consultant. He graduated from the Indiana University School of Education with Bachelors of Science in 1971 and Masters of Science in 1976. He received an Educational Specialist Degree from Indiana State in Indiana State University in 2000.
John Crane
Crane is a managing partner in structural engineering firm BFW Crane, Inc. He is a registered professional structural engineer. He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 1990.
David Sabbagh
Sabbagh is a former professor of mathematics and computer science and has taught at Bowling Green State University, Purdue University, Indiana University and Ivy Tech Bloomington. He is co-owner of Sabbagh Associates, a small technology company, and served 12 years on the Bloomington City Council. He has been a member of the board of the Cardinal Stage Company and Friends of Music at the Jacobs School of Music and a member and former president on the board of the Monroe County YMCA.
Tony Bennett
Bennett is a former high school teacher, coach and principal. He is Indiana’s current Superintendent for Public Instruction. He received his doctorate degree in education and his Superintendent license from Spalding University and received his Certification in Secondary Administration and Supervision, Master of Science in Secondary Education, and Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education form Indiana University Southeast.
Mitt Romney
Romney, 65, was governor of Massachusetts from 2003 to 2007, presiding over a legislature dominated by Democratic representatives. The unemployment rate in Massachusetts fell from 5.6% to 4.7% during his tenure. Before serving in government, Romney was a business leader. He was CEO of consulting firm Bain & Company and founded and led Bain Capital, a private investment firm specializing in launching and salvaging businesses. Romney was chief executive of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Shelli Yoder
Yoder worked in nonprofit executive management and with businesses for 20 years, focusing primarily on helping those in need gain access to physical and mental-health services and educational opportunities. She continued this work as Miss Indiana in 1992. She was also the assistant director for professional development at Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business in Bloomington. She earned her master’s degree in counseling and human services from IU-South bend and has a master’s of divinity from Vanderbilt University Divinity School.
