Keith Klein

Klein

Candidate for reelection to MCCSC School Board, District 5

Klein graduated from IU in 1966 with a BS in radio-tv. He earned a masters degree in mass communication from IU in 1967. He currently is the vice-president of the Monroe County Community School Corporation.

"We need to better educate the legislature and the general public of the considerable strengths public education brings to our citizens.  Public education is losing a public relations battle that it is not contributing to the successes of society...These perceptions need to be reversed and that is part of a board member and administration’s job."

"Homelessness and poverty has profound effects on our students and is a societal issue that demands solutions.  Hungry students and those that do not have the resources are expected to perform at the same levels as those students that have resources...students that come to school hungry, sick, tired or not appropriately dressed for the season are seriously disadvantaged in the classroom.  This is a community concern."
