“I am running for re-election so we can continue this success for Indiana's students.
Education is the key to Indiana's future economic success. Communities depend on the strength of their schools. We’ve made tremendous strides to ensure students graduate high school college and career ready, but we must do more. As a former principal at a Career and Technical Education center I believe it is critical that we understand the needs of Indiana’s business community so we can better prepare students to enter the workforce.
We must also ensure every Indiana classroom has a great teacher. That's why we've supported policies that recognize teachers for their performance and not just seniority. I also believe that reading is a critical life skill. That’s why we’ve focused on ensuring students can read at grade level by the end of third grade. We will continue to champion policies that help students in the years ahead.”
