This year’s IU Auditorium season has been an eclectic one, with a wide array of performances ranging from music to comedy to magic. The March lineup of events is heavily music-focused but still provides ample variation in genre and mode.
The Musical Arts Center will present the world premiere of the “Anne Frank” opera, based off the life and diary of Anne Frank. The opera will be presented with two casts on March 3, 4, 9 and 10 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available now through the Jacobs School of Music website.
Jazz at Lincoln Center brought their show, “Songs We Love,” to the IU Auditorium Feb. 20. A revival of the opener to JALC’s 2016 season, the show explores the early years of jazz music from the 1920s to the 1950s.

“The Book of Mormon” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 17-19 at the IU Auditorium. Tickets are available at the IU Auditorium website. Student tickets start at $29 and general tickets start at $30.

The Soweto Gospel Choir performed their concert, “HOPE: It’s been a long time coming” at the IU Auditorium on Oct. 18. The concert showcased freedom songs of South Africa’s apartheid regime, as well as those of America’s civil rights movement.

American performance art company “Blue Man Group” is returning to Bloomington with an IU Auditorium show at 7:30 p.m. March 23 and 24. This performance is part of its latest North American tour.
