Add Capobianco to list of weekend visitors

Both HoosierNation and Peegs reported early this week that Tom Crean will be hosting several visitors at this weekend's Michigan State game. Not long ago there was a debate as to whether four-star prospect Chris Braswell would be on campus this weekend, or in two weeks during the Iowa game.

How would you stop Ringer?

IU has a lot on its plate Saturday when the Spartans come to town. Now that the Hoosiers secondary is banged up, you can best bet MSU quarterback Brian Hoyer will be utilizing many play action passes.

Does 'Indiana' mean what it used to?

The Indiana Daily Student's Big Ten Preview came out on newstands today. Our centerpiece story examines the recent performance of IU Athletics (all sports, not just basketball) in the Big Ten. The story focuses on some of the challenges the Hoosiers face as an athletic department: financial limitations, recruiting, coaching changes and facilities.

Phillips out for remainder of season with torn ACL

ESPN's Adam Rittenburg reported that senior cornerback Chris Phillips tore his ACL in the Ball State game. Indiana coach Bill Lynch just said that starting cornerback Chris Phillips tore his ACL on Saturday against Ball State and will miss the remainder of the season.

As promised. I'll have the last part up in a couple of days. What are your thoughts on the current state of the team? Let me put it this way, when you're not involved in a basketball program day to day, you don't really know what's going on, so I'm not going to pretend what's know what's going on in the basketball program.

Sad news on Sunday

Hey folks, This was alluded to in an earlier comment, I apologize for not getting this up sooner -- former IU basketball and baseball player and baseball coach Ernie Andres, who also played for the Boston Red Sox, passed away Sunday at his home in Bradenton, Fla.

Recruits take in Ball State game

As expected, 7-footer Bawa Muniru was on campus for an official visit this weekend. It wasn't difficult to spot him last night at the football game, and he even drew a crowd of kids wanting to take pictures with him, while others had their cell phone cameras out like they had never seen anyone so big.

2008 IU Hall of Fame Class

Former IU football players quarterback Tim Clifford (1978-1980), linebacker/left guard Don Croftcheck (1962-1964) and lineman Don Luft (1949-1951) will be named to the IU Athletics Hall of Fame.
