As expected, 7-footer Bawa Muniru was on campus for an official visit this weekend. It wasn't difficult to spot him last night at the football game, and he even drew a crowd of kids wanting to take pictures with him, while others had their cell phone cameras out like they had never seen anyone so big. Sure it isn't an everday occurence to see someone of that size, but would Tijan Jobe get that same attention?
At halftime, Muniru was surrounded by all the coaches and many of the players (Devan Dumes, Verdell Jones, Nick Williams, Malik Story and Matt Roth) at some point during the break. Two weeks back, Dumes and Jeremiah Rivers were the only ones chatting it up with recruits such as Lavonte Dority, but with the greater likelihood Muniru may commit, that may explain why Crean had most of the team hanging around.
Derek Elston was also there and appeared to be there with a couple friends from home. This was his second trip to IU of late (August Elite Camp being the other), but his his official won't be until Hoosier Hysteria (Oct. 17). Elston, Muniru and a few other recruits were on the field just before this and the others were apparently high school freshmen.
