ESPN's Adam Rittenburg reported that senior cornerback Chris Phillips tore his ACL in the Ball State game.

Indiana coach Bill Lynch just said that starting cornerback Chris Phillips tore his ACL on Saturday against Ball State and will miss the remainder of the season. Phillips will undergo surgery in the near future. Redshirt freshman Chris Adkins and sophomore Richard Council likely will start at cornerback Saturday against Michigan State.

The Hoosiers' secondary also will be without starting safety Nick Polk, who left the Ball State game with a knee injury.

Safety Austin Thomas is questionable with a leg injury. "He's been working," Lynch said. "Hopefully, we'll get him back."

Lynch said left tackle Rodger Saffold will play against Michigan State after being helped off the field in the Ball State game.
