Well, ESPN's Big Ten Blogger, Adam Rittenberg, has come out with his new power rankings of the conference. And guess where he ranked the Hoosiers after a 42-20 debacle on Saturday.

Dead last.

Rittenberg says the following of what we learned about the 2008 IU football team:

"11. Indiana -- Saturday marked the first chance for us to learn something about Indiana, and it wasn't promising. Two cupcake games didn't prepare the Hoosiers for a formidable Ball State team. Indiana's defensive front couldn't stop MiQuale Lewis, and Hoosiers quarterback Kellen Lewis had a rough night throwing the ball. The Hoosiers have a chance to move up by beating Michigan State at home on Saturday, but they deserved to drop."

He also wrote in another post:

"Indiana came into the game untested, and it showed. The Ball State offense tore through Indiana's defense despite losing star wideout Dante Love to a tragic and terrifying injury in the first quarter. The Hoosiers didn't hold up their end of the bargain, as quarterback Kellen Lewis threw two interceptions and the offense shut down in the fourth quarter."

So what do you guys think? Do the Hoosiers deserve to finish dead last in the conference and was Saturday night a good indicator of how well the team will fare this year?
