In the past six months, eight more states have banned the synthetic cannabinoid known as “Spice.” Now, Indiana’s Spice trade is on the chopping block, with Sen. Ron Alting, R-Lafayette and Rep. John Barnes, D-Indianapolis calling for its prohibition.

The Scottish Episcopal Church has decided the Christian God is no longer male and is instead “beyond human gender .”   They have removed words such as “Lord,” “He,” “His,” “Him” and “mankind” from services in order to promote this idea. Some ministers have even changed the final blessing, which includes the phrase “Father, Son and Holy Spirit,” to “Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifier .”

Science, cocktails and charity will come together to benefit Bloomington's WonderLab Museum of Science, Health and Technology with the Science Night Out: Sail the High Seas. Hosted by IU Women's Bsketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack and her husband, David Jack the gala begins at 6 p.m. Friday at the Bloomington Monroe County Convention Center.

One year ago today, one of my closest friends, Peter Duong, stepped in front of a car, was struck and died. Since that day one year ago, the University has worked to create a safer environment.

Sophomore Peter Duong died exactly one year ago on Fee Lane while crossing the street. His death was a wake-up call for IU and its street safety issues, and while improvements have been made, the University still has a long way to go.
