More Big Ten Media Day highlights

This is Ryan Gregg again. I'm sorry for the delay in posts, but my schedule has been rather hectic. Making my way through the many different tables at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, I obviously made time to stop and talk with Austin Starr.

Not New Jersey, but Gordon and White will wear new jerseys

Eric Gordon and DJ White were in New York yesterday at the MSG Training Center for the NBA's annual rookie photo shoot. The shoot is organized so card companies, NBA teams and media outlets can snap a ridiculous amount of photos of the rookies in their new NBA threads.

Aaaaaand boom goes the dynamite

Hey folks, Yes, that's right, I've reached into a little vault of Youtube lore for this Sunday evening post that has nothing to do with that link I just left you. Media Day highlights: part 1

This is Ryan Gregg, one of your beat reporters this fall and also the desk's editor. I haven't been set up on Under the Rock yet, but managed to hack Lee's password. Day one of the Big Ten Media gathering in Chicago is in the books, and I've got some highlights I wanted to share. Obviously, the hot topic of the day was K Lew's return to quarterback. Lynch's bottom line, gathered between his persistent praising of the offensive line, was he doesn't know who will be starting at quarterback. He is high on Chappell, but obviously recognizes what Lewis did for the team last year. "... it's going to be a competitive camp because one of the things that happens, if you miss spring practice, you miss all those opportunities to get better, but it also gives somebody else a chance to prove they can play," Lynch said of Lewis' suspension.

Lynch: Means coming back

Hey folks, You'll find an identical headline and almost identical story over at Inside Pitch, but the news is the same: Bill Lynch has confirmed Andrew Means will return to the IU football team this fall for his senior season.

After an impressive sophomore campaign at IU, it looks like people are beginning to take notice at Greg Middleton - otherwise known as the monster on the Hoosiers' defensive line. Middleton was named to the Ted Hendricks award watch list, which is an award that goes out to the nation's top defensive end.

Here is the article from ESPN reporter Dana O'Neil: Less than a month after he agreed to become Indiana University's associate athletic director for compliance services, Chad Hawley has changed his mind about the job. The Indianapolis Star reports Hawley, who last served as the Big Ten's assistant commissioner for compliance, returned to his role with the Big Ten.
