Love at First Sight: Taylor Campy and Hop Along at Rachael's Cafe
When one is able to observe a significant amount of performers outside of their element, it becomes easy to pick up on the habits.

Hop Along; Rachael's Cafe Thursday In indie-pop musical tradition Hop Along's delightful beat is minimal and excellent for the casual foot-banger.
R. Stevie Moore; The Bishop Thursday, 9:30 PM Pasted on the cover of a recent edition of WIRE magazine, self-proclaimed musical genius Stevie Moore looks like the sort of bloke who writes existential beat poetry by night and informs the locals that he has discovered the contents of Area 51.

John Davey; Bear's Place Tuesday, 8:00 PM There are several things that set John Davey apart from the rest of the spiritual youths with breathy, nascent vocals and an acoustic guitar.
Chain & the Gang; The Bishop Tuesday, 9:00 PM "Chain and the Gang" is an interesting study in reggae, blues, classic guitar, and love-banter that at its worst, leaves listeners simply amused.
Gardens & Villa; The Bishop 9:30 PM, Thursday, September 26 Meet the five dudes from California who have hitchhiked the West Coast until they found themselves, without kitchen or showers in the Oregon studio of Richard Swift, to bring you the freshest of quasi-minimalist, new age coastal beats.
JPP, Hanggai, Slavic Soul Party So here I am, Lotus Fest Day Nummer Eins, and having reluctantly passed up the Paganini-playing child fiddlers of Kirkwood Avenue, I resolved upon the First United Methodist Church as my first venue of choice.

Hullo Bloomington! If you've passed by Walnut anytime since yesterday you've likely already seen the stage setup.
The 19th annual Lotus Festival has already hit Bloomington with Lotus Thursday and the performing artists Chris Smither and Ben Sollee.
Eilen Jewell; The Bishop Wednesday, 8 PM Eilen Jewell grooves like a 1960's pop diva. Her folk/blues style is capitalized by the strums of heavy electric guitar, and she croons her lyrics about love and booze with plaintive nonchalance.
Two Gallants; The Bishop Tuesday, 9 PM I admit to being something of a fantastic book freak, and so it comes to no surprise when I say that I was originally attracted to these fellows due to my pedantic love for James Joyce and the fact that this outfit takes its name from his 'Dubliners'. It should go said however that these lads are pretty damn good musicians.
Ostensibly, Indianapolis Irish Festival 2012 is not the prime location to see some of the most talented indie performers in the nation.
Wye Oak; The Bishop Friday, 8:30 PM Wye Oak's My Neighbour/My Creator features a lovely track "I Hope you Die" which gives the wrong impression of a fantastic passive-aggression.
Seven Nations; Military Park, Indianapolis 7:00 PM Friday, Saturday $10 at the gate Now you're really in for a treat.
For the Week of 9/3/2012 through 9/9/2012 1. Cat Power, Sun (Matador) 2. Animal Collective, Centipede Hz (Domino) 3.
Meadows Fortune; Bear's Place Wednesday, 9 PM With a chorus consisting of "this is my last goodbye/ so dry your eyes there are no tears/ to cry," the music of Meadows Fortune, Jacobs School of Music graduate and long time Bloomington-er Jeffery Todd, seems an act better suited for summer graduations and weddings than for the warm yellow walls of Bear's Place.
The Bishop; NOBUNNY Tuesday, 9 PM $10 at the door I've heard about half of these performers before and though it'd probably be appropriate to say that the sounds are raw and the performances visceral, this seems sort of like a copout.
The Bishop; Sheloaf 9:30 PM I didn't get this joke the first time until I read the band bio but because you're likely smarter than me it shouldn't be too difficult.
