R. Stevie Moore; The Bishop

Thursday, 9:30 PM

Pasted on the cover of a recent edition of WIRE magazine, self-proclaimed musical genius Stevie Moore looks like the sort of bloke who writes existential beat poetry by night and informs the locals that he has discovered the contents of Area 51. Aside from his brooding artist facial hair, may very well be something crazy about Moore. The Nashville native has self-released more than 400 cassette tapes and albums of indie-punk-experimental power-heavy hits. With so much classic rock and new groove in his tunes, Moore's hits are difficult to classify without the use of monosyllabic abstractions: "dude," "wow," "cool," "sweet," etc. Be that as it may his 30,000+ last.fm listeners could probably shed some more light on Moore's unique pastiche, or you could discover it for yourself at the Bishop.
