Julie Thomas

Thomas serves on several boards of directors, including the Monroe County Board of Zoning Appeals and Planned Parenthood of Indiana. She is a past president of Middle Way House and continues to volunteer as a victim’s advocate. She earned a Ph.D. in history and gender studies from IU in 2005.


John Newlin

John Newlin

Newlin, 61, has bachelor’s degrees from Miami University of Ohio and Indiana University. He has studied concrete, aggregate and cement design and received certifications from several institutions, including the University of Kentucky and IU-Purdue University Indianapolis.


Iris Kiesling

Iris Kiesling

Kiesling has an associate’s degree from the Katharine Gibbs School in Montclaire, N.J., and Boston. Kiesling had an active role in the League of Women Voters of Monroe County before serving on the Bloomington City Council.
