IU comeback leads to 5-4 overtime victory against Notre Dame

After falling behind 2-0 early in the second half against Notre Dame on Saturday night at Parkview Field in Fort Wayne, the IU men’s soccer team fought back to win 5-4 in overtime after a second half full of goals.

Reported robbery turns out to be deer in house

Bloomington police were called to the scene of a reported burglary Saturday afternoon, but when they arrived, they found evidence that a deer had run through the house, Lt. Faron Lake of the Bloomington Police Department said.

Man charged with conspiracy to manufacture meth

Bloomington Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of South Franklin Road on Saturday night and found a man who was allegedly going to sell the supplies needed to produce methamphetamine, BPD Lt. Faron Lake said.

Woman sexually assaulted in local hotel

A woman reported being sexually assaulted at the Hampton Inn, 2100 N. Walnut St., early Saturday morning, Lt. Faron Lake of the Bloomington Police Department said.

Deli returns to downtown

Five years after the original Macri’s Deli closed its doors, the restaurant and sports bar is once again open for business. Although under a new roof with different ownership, Donovan said the new Macri’s at 301 N. Morton St. still harbors the same atmosphere Bloomington residents loved. With its new home in the old downtown train station, the owners decided to update the restaurant’s name to Macri’s at the Depot.

Authors gather to discuss published works

Local writers and community members gathered Friday at the Showers Inn Bed & Breakfast to listen to authors Brian Stoner, Margaret Clark and Ladi Terry read excerpts from their books, which were published by Bloomington-based Holon Publishing & Collective Press.

Led by a breakaway effort from RJ Stuart, Delta Tau Delta won its first-ever Little 500 in front of a packed Bill Armstrong Stadium, ending the Cutters’ five-year winning streak.


Delta Gamma wins 25th running of women's Little 500

Delta Gamma, Kappa Alpha Theta, Teter, Wing It, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Delta Sigma Pi had been battling back-and-forth all night with no one team ever taking a commanding lead. As the 100th and final lap began, the six teams found themselves in an all-out, one lap spring to decide the 25th Women’s Little 500 at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
