A two-vehicle accident at Third Street and Highland Avenue on Saturday night left one vehicle flipped on its side.
The driver of one of the vehicles, Tymesha Coleman, 29, was cited for unsafe lane movement, IU Police Chief Keith Cash said.
Chris Stokes, a passenger in the vehicle, said they were from South Bend and were unfamiliar with the area. When Coleman attempted to turn left onto Highland Avenue, she struck a vehicle driving in the other lane, flipping it, Stokes said.
Austin Marsh, the 19-year-old IU student who was driving the flipped vehicle, sustained minor injuries to his arms. Another student, 20-year-old passenger Emily Keenan, reported neck pain.
Both were treated and released from IU Health Bloomington Hospital, Cash said.
Those in Coleman’s vehicle were not injured in the accident.
Third Street was closed near TIS College Bookstore at about 10 p.m. Saturday but reopened to traffic an hour later.
