Bloomington police were called to the scene of a reported burglary Saturday afternoon, but when they arrived, they found evidence that a deer had run through the house, Lt. Faron Lake of the Bloomington Police Department said.
A homeowner arrived on the 700 block of South Meadowbrook Drive shortly before 5:15 p.m. Saturday to find the back door shattered and blood throughout the house, Lake said.
Police who responded to the scene found deer hair in addition to the blood that was reported. Police suspect the deer jumped in the back door, became trapped inside and ran around the house until it could find a way out.
