Union to host 68 law schools

One-third of America's law schools will be participating in this year's Law Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today in the Indiana Memorial Union's Frangipani Room. The informal gathering will give students a chance to meet with representatives from 68 law schools around the country.

Dodds holds annual Couch-a-thon

Sophomore Paul Lao was exhausted. By 11:15 a.m. Saturday, he had been awake for nearly 11 hours on a sofa at the corner of 10th Street and Jordan Avenue. The annual Dodds Couch-A-Thon ran from noon Friday to noon Saturday to raise money for Shelter, Inc.

Students jailed for a good cause

During Homecoming weekend, many people were issued warrants and were sent to "jail." They hadn't really committed a crime, but they were in jail to raise money for the Crossroads Rehabilitation Center.

Play gives absurdist take on modern life

The critically acclaimed "Life During Wartime" draws as much from Dostoevsky as from Swift. "In the roughly five years since Keith Reddin began spending more time writing than acting, he has produced a steady stream of black comedies about the underground of corruption, political and moral, that lurks just beneath the slick sitcom surface of American life," wrote Frank Rich of the New York Times after the play's 1991 off-broadway opening. "'Life During Wartime' is an archetypal sample of its author's works."

Freshman outside hitter Monique Pritz must not be a big fan of ESPN2. Upon learning that the volleyball team's match Saturday at Ohio State would be nationally-televised, she deadpanned "Oh really?" A shrug of her shoulders accompanied her unsuspected interrogation.

Freshman fights injury to play big role for the Hoosiers

In baseball, there is always a player that is considered the "utility" player. He's a player that could play any position on the field the coach feels necessary. For the women's soccer team, the utility player is freshman Kim Sturm. Last year Sturm had to fight through an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury that had benched her during her senior year of high school and her freshman year at IU. Despite the injury, she has returned this season to play an extensive amount of roles on the field.

Coach Jerry Yeagley's soccer team is riding a nine-game winning streak. It recently clinched the regular-season Big Ten title and claimed a No. 1 spot in a national poll -- but he still expects more from his Hoosiers.
