Battling Stereotype

·

What is a gamer? Is it a man, a woman, a geek? Do they have glasses? Tousled hair? A pocket protector? Gamers are much more than this popular stereotype. Still, stereotypes exist in almost every hobby and participants learn to live with it. But role-playing games are being banned from schools, clubs and libraries, according to the Web site www.TheEscapist.com. Fast food for finals

·

Thanksgiving break has come and gone, and that means finals week is fast approaching. Food and meal preparation is probably the last thing on a studying student's mind. Still, hunger will eventually strike. And instead of going out to eat, stopping at the drive-through or getting take out, take the time to make a nutritious meal in around 30 minutes.

A probable cause for this, which even Cosby mentioned, was the basketball game taking place at the same time. People of all ages, from small children to seniors, came to see the legendary comedian of "The Cosby Show," "I Spy" and "Fat Albert."

Lingerie: function or show?

·

Women don't wear underwear -- they wear lingerie, I read in The New York Times over Thanksgiving break. The phrase brought on a cringe, but it also made me smile. The word "lingerie" has a tendency to do that sometimes. Sometimes undergarments can make me feel very proud to be a woman.
