Even though former Indiana men’s basketball guard Lamar Wilkerson did not hear his name called during the 2026 NBA Draft, Wilkerson will still get a chance to showcase his talent in the professional ranks after signing an Exhibit 10 contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday, per DraftExpress.
An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, minimum-salary deal. The Thunder have the option to bring Wilkerson to the summer league and training camp, while retaining his NBA G League rights if he is cut. An Exhibit 10 deal can also be converted into a two-way contract, and if the player is kept on the 15-man roster at the start of the regular season the contract will become a standard minimum deal.
Wilkerson made an immediate impact for the Hoosiers during his lone season with the program last year.
He finished the season averaging a team-high 20.9 points, plus 3.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.0 steals per game. Wilkerson also played in all 32 games, averaging 33.9 minutes per game, in head coach Darian DeVries’ first season with Indiana. The fifth-year senior also shot 46.3% from the field, 37.6% from 3-point range and 88.8% from the free throw line.
The opportunity now provides Wilkerson a chance to play for one of the NBA’s best teams. The Thunder finished last season with a 64-18 overall record, the best mark in the league.
Oklahoma City swept the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers in the first two rounds of the playoffs before falling in Game 7 to the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference finals.
The Ashdown, Arkansas, native grew up just under 300 miles away from the franchise he will now wear a uniform for.
The Thunder’s G League affiliate is the Oklahoma City Blue. The team finished last season with a 12-24 record, the 13th-best record in the Western Conference. The Blue saw former Big Ten standouts Brooks Barnhizer from Northwestern and Payton Sandfort from Iowa contribute to the team last year.
The Hoosiers finished the 2025-26 season with an 18-14 overall record and a 9-11 mark in Big Ten play, missing the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season. Indiana's season concluded with a 74-61 defeat to Northwestern in the Big Ten Tournament on March 11.
