Ron Patterson commits to IU

Patterson verbally commits

Four-star shooting guard Ron Patterson has just become the second commit for the class of 2012. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound guard is ranked 10th among all other 2012 shooting guards, and is ranked 65th among all players in his class.

(Dis)respect from ESPN's Big Ten Power Rankings?

ESPN.com released its college football conference power rankings on Tuesday and, once again, IU is near the bottom. The Hoosiers are tied with Minnesota for ninth out of 11 teams -- only Illinois is ranked lower. That ranking would seem at least somewhat disrespectful with teams like Michigan State and Northwestern ranked ahead of the Hoosiers.

BREAKING NEWS: CREAN RECIEVES COMMITTMENT FROM CENTER JURKIN

Tonight, during the final of the Adidas Nations tournament in Chicago, Il, nationally ranked center Peter Jurkin of the class of 2012 announced his committment to play for the Indiana Hoosiers. Jurkin, a Sudan native who played for Team Africa at the Adidas Nation, is ranked 37th in the nation by ESPN.com. Jurkin came over to the United States as part of the A-HOPE organization, set up by his AAU coach Mark Adams.

Hoosiers to play Purple Aces in Evansville

Per the city of Evansville: The last time they faced off in Evansville was December 20, 1995. Today, Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel had the pleasure of announcing that the University of Evansville's Purple Aces will take on the Indiana University Hoosiers at Evansville's new downtown arena in November 2011.

Enterline to join volleyball team

Per IU: Redshirt sophomore Lindsay Enterline will suit it up for the Hoosier Volleyball team this fall, joining Head Coach Sherry Dunbar's squad for the start of preseason practice beginning on Sunday, Aug.

Buckeye's Pryor and State's Jones Announced As Preseason Big Ten Players of The Year

On Oct. 3, 2009, Ohio State's Terrelle Pryor went 16 for 27 for 159 yards to beat the Hoosiers 33-14 Ten months later, the Buckeye was voted Big Ten's Preseason Player of the Year - for the second year in a row. Michigan State's Greg Jones was selected by the Big Ten as Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, also for the second year in a row. Pryor finished 167 of 295 for 2,094 yards, 18 touchdowns and 779 yards rushing.

15 Hoosiers named All-Academic

Per IU: A total of 15 Hoosiers have been named All-Academic honorees for track and field by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Young's list includes IU

Think Tom Crean has too many guards on his roster already? He would gladly take one more. B.J. Young, a 6-4 guard from Missouri, cut his list to five teams with IU at the top, according to The Indianapolis Star.
