As reported on Easter, redshirt sophomore pitcher Aaron Slegers made five appearances in 2012. His final appearance came March 6 at Louisville.

Quick thoughts: Notre Dame moves to the ACC

In case you haven't heard yet, Notre Dame is joining the ACC in every sport. Every sport except football, of course. Still, the Fighting Irish football team will play five teams in the ACC every season, likely beginning in 2014. This doesn't really change the world of college football too much.

Hoosiers defeat UMass 45-6 on the road

IU Football (2-0) beats UMass (0-2) 45-6 at Gillette Stadium in Week 2. The win marks the first FBS victory and road win for second year head coach Kevin Wilson. In the first quarter, the Hoosiers posted 21 points off of a 50 yard TD run by sophomore QB Tre Roberson, a 39 run by Roberson, and a five yard pass to sophomore WR Shane Wynn (score 21-6). Two minutes into the second quarter, Roberson went down with a leg injury in the red zone.

Roberson leaves game with leg injury

IU sophomore quarterback Tre Roberson left Saturday's game against Massachusetts in an ambulance with a left leg injury following a quarterback sneak in the second quarter. With the Hoosiers up 24-6 and the ball on the UMass 5-yard line with about 8:20 remaining in the quarter, Roberson rushed the ball to the UMass 2-yard line.

Lips named to USA Swimming 2012-13 Junior National Team

Indiana University freshman swimmer Haley Lips has become a member of the USA Swimming 2012-13 Junior National Team after posting a time of 2:01.63 in the 200-meter freestyle at the Olympic Trials this past June. The roster includes all members of the 2012 Junior Pan Pacifics Team and those athletes with the top six fastest times in the combined results of the following Olympic events: the 2012 US Olympic Team Trials, the 2012 US Open and the 2012 USA Swimming Junior Nationals. As a member of the 2011-12 Junior National team, Lips competed in the 100- and 200-meter butterfly events.

The 2013 Hoosier Baseball Schedule

IU Coach Tracy Smith called his team's 2o13 schedule "a beast." "It's one of the best ones around." Smith said that the Hoosiers' 18-21 non-conference record last season hurt them. "One of the things that I was disappointed (about) last year was, I don't think there were 25, 30 teams in the country better than us at the end of the season, and we didn't get an at-large bid," Smith said.

Barbiere Named to 2013 World University Games Team

Indiana University senior Jim Barbiere was selected to compete as part of a group of 39 swimmers on Team USA at the 2013 World University Games, USA Swimming announced today. Competing as a member of the 4x200 freestyle relay, Barbiere earned the spot by placing fifth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:50.74 at last month's U.S.
