Indiana University freshman swimmer Haley Lips has become a member of the USA Swimming 2012-13 Junior National Team after posting a time of 2:01.63 in the 200-meter freestyle at the Olympic Trials this past June.

The roster includes all members of the 2012 Junior Pan Pacifics Team and those athletes with the top six fastest times in the combined results of the following Olympic events: the 2012 US Olympic Team Trials, the 2012 US Open and the 2012 USA Swimming Junior Nationals.

As a member of the 2011-12 Junior National team, Lips competed in the 100- and 200-meter butterfly events. In the FINA 2011 World Junior Championships in Lima, Peru, she placed sixth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:14.02.

Representing the IU men's swimming team, former Hoosier NCAA Champion Ben Hesen made the USA Swimming 2012-13 National Team in the 100-meter backstroke. After touching the wall with a time of 53.03 in the 100 backstroke at the Olympic Trials, Hesen secured his position on the national team.
