ESPN's Big Ten Bloggers Adam Rittenberg and Brian Bennett picks Ball State to beat the Hoosiers. Check out their reasons below:
BALL STATE at INDIANABrian Bennett: The 2-0 start for Indiana is a nice story, but the schedule hasn't been very good. Ball State is a major step up, and with Cameron Coffman getting his first start at quarterback, this is a dangerous assignment for the young Hoosiers. They lead early but can't control the Cardinals' running game in the fourth quarter. ... Ball State 35, Indiana 28
Adam Rittenberg: I really think the Hoosiers are getting better, but I agree with you about the schedule. Ball State is a significant jump in competition, and while Coffman fires two touchdown passes, he also fires two interceptions in his first start. The Cardinals rally to make it three straight against the Hoosiers. ... Ball State 31, Indiana 30
Also, here is their preview that they just posted:
Ball State (1-1) at Indiana (2-0): Junior college transfer Cameron Coffman makes his first career start at quarterback for Indiana, which lost top signal caller Tre Roberson to a season-ending broken leg last week. Coffman takes aim at a Ball State defense that has struggled against the pass early this season (102nd nationally in efficiency). Ball State has won its past two meetings with Indiana, including last year when it spoiled Kevin Wilson's Hoosiers coaching debut. Indiana comes off of its first 600-yard offensive performance since 2001, as it racked up 606 yards in last week's romp against UMass.
