Scoring errors raising eyebrows
Hey folks, It's the afternoon before IU's game with Minnesota, but apparently there's still something to talk about from Friday night.
Hey folks, It's the afternoon before IU's game with Minnesota, but apparently there's still something to talk about from Friday night.
IU athletics spokesman J.D. Campbell told us that IU interim coach Dan Dakich will be on ESPN's Pardon the Interruption today at 5:30.
Dakich just finished his first weekly press conference as IU head coach. Here is what the new head man said about the upcoming game against Michigan State. "I didn't think any criticism of those kids were fair," Dakich said about some of the press about the players missing practice after Sampson's resignation. --- On recruiting: They are going to the four players signed with 2008 about how the program is "on good footing". Dakcih didn't say which players they met with yesterday, but it likely wasn't Ebanks because Dakich drove with Ray McCallum where they made lot of calls to the compliance people to make sure they were doing what they could. --- Dakich announced that D.J.
Last night, I spoke with Tobias Harris for the first time since the reports of Kelvin Sampson's major violations a couple weeks back.
One thing that has been lost in the Kelvin Sampson saga is that the IU men's basketball team has been improving its potential seed for the NCAA tournament. The Hoosiers are 5-1 since the allegations against Kelvin Sampson were made public by the University, including wins over ranked opponents Purdue and Michigan State.
Butler makes a meaningless 3-pointer as time expires. The final score is 72-69 as IU sweeps Ohio State on the season.
Tracy Porter ran is 40 yard dash in 4.37 seconds, the fourth fastest time for cornerbacks at the combine. The remaining drills for cornerbacks have yet to be completed, but we'll try to get them up here for you ASAP
Hey folks, If you followed the whimsical stylings of my good friend Brian Buckey tonight (or are one of the 18 people in Bloomington with the Big Ten Network), you know what took place here tonight.
Here are some quick notes from the first half: Amber Jackson and Jamie Braun led IU in scoring with six points each.
If I made a post about every story about Sampson's resignation, there would be 23938435943508 posts in the last week.
I attended Bob Knight basketball camp as a 5th grader and had Dan Dakich as a coach. There was a rumor that Coach Dakich once hit a shot from the balcony, but I never knew if it was true.....until tonight. Dakich met with the media briefly after his radio show and I was able to ask him about the myth.
Zach and I are here at Assembly Hall as the Hoosiers take on the No. 20 Buckeyes. IU is in need of a win after a 30 point road loss to Wisconsin last week.
Dakich said Ohio State has had some bad luck in the Big Ten and "this is going to be a very difficult game." He said looking back of the tapes on the first game, the contest could have gone either way. And that's it for Dakich's first radio show.
James Hardy worked out at the NFL combine in Indianapolis yesterday, while Tracy Porter works out tomorrow. Hardy was measured at 6'5, two inches shorter than he was measured at IU.
As seen at other schools when coaches resign or are fired, until an 'interim' tag is removed or until a school hires a new coach, recruiting is really hampered.
The first installment of the Dan Dakich radio show airs tonight on 105.1 FM in Bloomington from the Hoosier Den at Foster Quad.
The IU men's basketball team moved to No. 12 in both major national polls today after winning games last week against Purdue and Northwestern. Bruce Pearl, many fan's favorite to take over next year for the Hoosiers, and his Tennessee Vols are No.
I know it is one game in, but what are everyone's thoughts about Dakich? Where do you see this team going this season?
NW misses a three at the buzzer - IU escapes with a 85-82 win. Bassett led all Hoosiers with 24 points. Check the baskeblog and Monday's IDS for further coverage. Thompson misses a driving shot.
All the players are here tonight, and most (if not all) of them have enscribed "KS" on their shoes. Do any of you think Kelvin Sampson will watch tonight's game?
