Hey folks,
If you followed the whimsical stylings of my good friend Brian Buckey tonight (or are one of the 18 people in Bloomington with the Big Ten Network), you know what took place here tonight. I'll recap for those who did not: IU took down No. 20 Ohio State 69-61 in overtime after storming back from a 12-point deficit in truly dramatic fashion. The Hoosiers fought the Buckeyes blow for blow, taking charges and hustling after loose balls all night. A couple of things I didn't have space for in the wrap so I figured I'd throw on here: -Ohio State freshman center is the prohibitive favorite to win conference rookie of the year, and she'll probably be an All-Big Ten first teamer too (she got my vote). She's averaging 17.9 points and 9.6 rebounds, so she readily deserves such honors. But tonight, the Hoosiers took her out of the game. She had 10 points and nine rebounds - a fine effort, but not for the Big Ten's third-leading scorer. -The Hoosiers' dribble-drive defense toughened up in the second half, in no small part due to the excellent help players were giving each other when Ohio State guards would penetrate. Another facet of the "rhythm" coach Jack said the Hoosiers were feeling at the end of the game, and a likely reason she left the same five out on the floor for most of the game. -Jori Davis said after the game that her foot feels fine, and that she didn't feel any noticeable discomfort at all. The exact words she used were "100 percent."
That's about it from here. Take it easy everybody.
