James Hardy worked out at the NFL combine in Indianapolis yesterday, while Tracy Porter works out tomorrow.
Hardy was measured at 6'5, two inches shorter than he was measured at IU. Hardy did however finish in the top 10 amongst wide receivers in the bench press, broad jump, 3-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle.
While he wasn't among the top 10 receivers in the 40 yard dash, his time of 4.4 seconds did beat fellow Big ten receiver Mario Manningham's time, which came as a surprise, as Manningham is the smaller of the two receivers.
ESPN insider Todd McShay wrote in his latest blog on the combine that because of his unexpectdedly quick 40 time, Hardy is likely to move into the late first round rather then the early second round.
I think the most important thing for Hardy was that he did well in the bench press. A negative view on Hardy was that he wasn't strong enough and would struggle against more physical cornerbacks in the Big Ten. Due to his impressive workout with the bench press, this may ease some of the concerns of potential general managers looking at him.
