Tamarah Riley had 10 first half rebounds for OSU but the Buckeyes only out-rebounded IU 21-19. IU only turned the ball over five times compared to OSU's nine. 15:53 to play: OSU leads 36-29 The Buckeyes got off to a quick start to open the 2nd half. Tamarah Riley just grabbed two offensive rebounds inside and then scored and was fouled. She missed the free throw though. Then Marscilla Packer nailed a 3-pointer and Coach Jack burned a timeout. Shavelle Little hit a 3-pointer to cap an 8-0 run for Ohio State. Jori Davis hit a basket for IU to break up the run. 11:28 to play: OSU leads 45-37 Ohio State is starting to click on offense. They are working inside out and getting some really good looks inside as well as outside on kick-outs. Whiney Thomas makes a basket and gets fouled, much to the delight of the crowd. She'll shoot a free throw after the media timeout. Maybe that's what the Hoosiers need to get going. 6:47 to play: OSU leads 52-44 Whitney Thomas hit her free throw and then Jori Davis made two free throws to bring IU back within five points. Ohio State responed with three straight points, but Jamie Braun banked in a left-handed runner to bring IU back within six points. Ohio State answered one more time with four straight points before Whitney Thomas hit an elbow jumper. 2:48 to play: OSU leads 52-51 Jamie Braun made two straight baskets. The second one was a 3-point play on a runner in the lane. IU is back within three points. The crowd is really into it now and the Hoosiers are turning up the intensity on defense. Jamie Braun nails a fade-away jumper to bring IU within one. IU forces a travel and the crowd is going crazy. It's the loudest I've heard it for a women's game here at Assembly Hall. 35.8 seconds left: IU leads 54-52 Tamarah Riley just fouled out after scoring 15 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. Whiney Thomas made the first free throw and then made the second, but IU was called for a lane violation. The score is tied at 52 with just under a minute. Kim Roberson is fouled with 42 seconds left and knocks down two free throws. Timeout Ohio State. 10.6 seconds left: Tied 54-54 Jantel Lavender hits a shot in the lane to tie the score at 54. IU has the ball with a chance to take the last shot in regulation.
After Regulation: Tied at 54 Whitney Thomas is blocked out of bounds with 3 seconds left. IU inbounds to Jori Davis in the corner and Davis misses a desperation 3-pointer as the buzzer sounds. Overtime it is. 1:05 left in OT: IU leads 65-61 Back and forth we go. Packer hits two free throws to start off the overtime scoring. Whitney Thomas scores a basket in traffic to tie it up. Roberson scoops in a layup and IU is up by two, but Packer hits a 3-pointer to put OSU up by one. Jackson answers with a basket of her own, but Packer hits another jumper. Roberson responds with a jumper and then is fouled after an IU stop. She hits one of two, but Whitney Thomas grabs the rebound. Jori Davis makes a nice baseline drive to score and put IU up by four.
Final: IU wins 69-61 in OT Jori Davis steals the inbounds pass and is fouled. She sinks two big free throws and IU is up by six. Packer misses a layup and Braun grabs the rebound for IU. Braun hits both free throws. Nice ovation for the Hoosiers to close the game. That's a big win for IU over a top 25 opponent. IU moves to 9-7 in the Big Ten.
