Dakich said Ohio State has had some bad luck in the Big Ten and "this is going to be a very difficult game." He said looking back of the tapes on the first game, the contest could have gone either way.

And that's it for Dakich's first radio show. For anyone out there that could listen to it, what were your thoughts?

Walt from Jasper - "Where you more nervous when your guarded MJ or coaching the NW game."

"I don't know if I get really nervous. Both were thrilling things, but I wouldn't call it nerves."

---

Eddie from Indy - "How much inspiration was it that you knew coach Knight in being a coach?"

Dakich said he had a great 16 years with Knight which he would never trade for anything in the world.

---

DJ came back to practice today after missing Sunday because of the flu. Bassett is cramping, but should be good to go tomorrow.

Tom from Hendersonville - "Why doesn't IU try some of NW's offense."

DD: We'll try to put that into play the next 72 hours.

---

"How about the character of DJ White?"

DJ White is the man. I have not been arond a kid who I've enjoyed more who brings everything you want in a student-athlete. I told DJ this, I didn't know DJ, I really haven't followed as closely as I used to.

---

"What is your defensive philosophy?"

Apparently I don't have one if you watch the Northwestern game.

---

Caller from San Antonio asks about if any former players have contacted him.

Dakich said a lot of players have contacted him since he's been back here, but especially so lately.

---

"I swear to you I made 17 packs with God right there, just get me through these 13 seconds," Dakich said about the end of the Northwestern game.

Said he didn't remember any better crowds than the recent ones at Michigan State and Purdue.

---

"When we came out there, I talked at the walk through that this is going to be the best Northwestern we are going to play. They are going to step up," Dakich said.

Two things saved IU: This is a resilient team and "I felt like we had been in this position"

Two more things, basketball-wise: Triangle and Two defense (four straight stops with it) and an on-ball move which opened up some three pointers.

Dakich is talking about the way things went down on Thursday and Friday, "This could go a lot of ways, I could never be here again," Dakich said when he was about to talk to Rick Greenspan.

"I tried to translate my thoughts to back then (when he was a player)," Dakich said about the players missing practice.

---

"I have to continually remind myself that a lot of people listen to this radio show," Dakish said. "I am thrilled to be sitting here, but not because of the circumstances."

Said he got a lot of e-mails, texts, letters, etc from friends and a lot of strangers - "It tells me the magnitude of Indiana Basketball."

Dakich talked about the players missing practice, saying he didn't realize everyone thought it was such a big deal.
