Thomas leads NAIA squad over Northwestern

Can't say many of you really want to hear about former Sampson guys, but a team-high 16-point effort from Deandre Thomas's helped lead NAIA Robert Morris College (Ill.) over Northwestern in an exhibition game last night. This isn't great news for the Wildcats who were hoping to get out of the Big Ten basement, but it's just an exhibition.

Women's team to host ROTC Ceremony

At halftime of the Hoosiers first game against Ball State next Friday in the first round of the Preseason WNIT 30 cadets will be honored. These cadets will go through the contracting ceremony which officially marks their commitment to complete training with the US Army with 8 years of total service to their country. Leftover student tickets now available to public

With the team's home opener just nine days away and reportedly 4,000 student season tickets still unsold, IU Athletics has announced that it has begun to sell the leftover tickets to the general public. Despite a fierce marketing campaign by IU's first-year coach Tom Crean to reach out to students, there has been an unprecedented decrease in student season ticket sales.

2 defenders collect honors

Despite a rough season by the IU women's soccer team, the squad still pulled away with Big Ten honors for two of their individuals. Defender Kelly Lawrence was named First Team All-Big Ten.

Bashore, Phegley slotted among top 50 prospects

Huge shocker, right? IU announced today pitcher Matt Bashore and catcher Josh Phegley made the top 50 of Baseball America's list of college's top 100 draft propects for next year. Just yet another reason to hope February comes soon. Press release: BLOOMINGTON, Ind.

Under 16:00 52-28 IU lead Thomas FG Davis FG and FT On the floor for the Hoosiers after the time out is Thomas, Davis, Mells, Lindsay, and Andujar Under 12:00 The Greyhounds are playing a much more competitive second half, outscoring the Hoosiers thus far 13-7.

If you can't make it to the game or can't get out of work Friday night, you'll be able to watch IU's first exhibition game online. The Big Ten Network will broadcast the IU/Anderson game (7 p.m.) free of charge on it's Web site Friday night.

Wisconsin, Penn State, Purdue. Yep, 3 more games in this ugly season. Most likely, 3 more losses. I keep looking back on previous outings and attempt to pinpoint the problematic areas.

IU men's soccer falls at Penn State 1-0

A goal in the 25th minute by Penn St. junior forward Vincent Salvatico was the difference in the IU men's soccer 1-0 road loss in Happy Valley. After senior goalkeeper Chay Cain saved a free kick from just outside of the box, Salvatico was able to put in the rebound. The Hoosiers were only able to tally three shots on goal in the 90 minutes of play.
