Class of 2006 recruits Greg Oden and Mike Conley went to Ohio State. Five-star junior Dominique Ferguson is Kentucky-bound. And fellow Lawrence North High School junior Justin Martin (No. 36 Scout.com, No. 38 Rivals.com) is expected to choose between Louisville and Xavier this week, according to Jody Demling of the Louisville Courier-Journal.

With many top prospects choosing earlier and earlier, it's hard for Tom Crean to sell the fact that IU could be very good again in the near future. It seems that Indiana natives are less open to a rebuilding Hoosiers program than some of the out of state talent such as seniors Chrisitan Watford and Maurice Creek.

This has been discussed on a previous post, but does it matter to you if IU is getting the top guys from Indiana? Crean has made a point of saying he is looking for more than just pure talent, rather high character, a respect for IU tradition (not taking for granted they are getting a free ride to play college ball) and pride in academics, among other things. If he can build a team out of national prospects and not just in-state recruits, is that okay with you? Or do you just want those good ol' Indiana boys?
