The NSCAA/adidas(R) National Rankings came out yesterday, and the Hoosiers' disappointing week - a tie to Kentucky and loss to Penn State - hurt them. IU dropped six spots to fall to No. 23. The rankings drop comes at a inauspicious time, as the Hoosiers will face No. 8 Northwestern 6:30 p.m. this Friday at Bill Armstrong Stadium. The match will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.
Northwestern is also coming off a poor finish. The Wildcats lost 1-0 to No. 18 Michigan State on Sunday. The match was Northwestern's second consecutive conference loss as the Wildcats dropped a 3-1 decision to No. 12 Michigan in October.
Friday's match will conclude IU's regular season. The Big Ten tournament begins on Nov. 13. The Hoosiers (9-5-3, 2-3) are currently 4th in conference standings.
