Boiled down to its bare bones, it's an open invitation from the IU basketball team to you to come on down to IU fans' other favorite athletic pastime, a tailgate, in this case prior to IU's spring football game on April 18. Players and coaches will interact with fans and Crean will "publicly announce" team awards for the past season. Well, the women's basketball season is officially over now with UCONN's 76-54 crushing of Louisville for their sixth national title. Next week i will hopefully be sitting down with IU coach Felisha Legette-Jack to discuss her thoughts on the big issues/events of the season and the future of the program. If you have any burning questions for Coach Jack feel free to post them in the comments section of this post and i will try to address them with her. Otherwise any additional thoughts of this past season or the outlook for next season?

-The WNIT wrapped up yesterday with South Florida beating Kansas 75-71 in Lawrence, Kan. Kansas got to the championship game by beating Illinois State (who put IU out of the tournament) with a final score of 75-72. -The final four this weekend in St.
IU won its Big Ten series with Illinois on the strength of freshman DH Alex Dickerson and junior catcher Josh Phegley's bats, as they posted three home runs. Phegley lead IU to a 14-4 win in game 1 of the series, with two home runs and five RBI on a 3-for-4 day.
About 200 fans watched the IU football team battle amongst itself in the squad's first open scrimmage on Saturday.

David Richardson-Rossbach of DU won out in a close contest between himself and Eric Young of the Cutters. For those of you who didn't know, Jamie Boswell of Wing It was injured last afternoon while riding in a pack during practice time at Bill Armstrong.
IU coach Bill Lynch met with various student leaders on Thursday at Memorial Stadium's Hoosier Room.
The Hoosiers extended their win streak to three games, as IU defeated Cincinnati 16-4. Sophomore pitcher Joey O'Gara earned the victory after giving up only one earned run in three innings. The important part of the game for the Hoosiers was the first inning.
