Former Indiana men’s basketball forward Tucker DeVries signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the NBA’s Boston Celtics on Thursday, per an X post from Indiana men’s basketball. DeVries went undrafted in the 2026 NBA Draft, but the one-year Hoosier will still get a chance to showcase his talent in the professional ranks.
An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, minimum-salary deal. The Celtics have the option to bring DeVries to Summer League and training camp, while retaining his NBA G League rights if he is cut.
The deal can also be converted into a two-way contract, and if DeVries is kept on the 15-man roster at the start of the regular season, the contract will become a standard minimum deal.
In DeVries’ only season in Bloomington, the redshirt senior averaged 13.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game. DeVries started all 32 contests for Indiana, averaging 34.2 minutes per game.
DeVries also shot 39.7% from the field, 33.3% from behind the arc on 7.7 attempts per game and 85.9% from the free throw line.
Boston finished last season with a 56-26 overall record and the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics’ season ended after dropping Game 7 to the No. 7-seeded Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the NBA playoffs.
The Celtics drafted former University of Houston forward Chris Cenac Jr. with the 27th pick in the first round and former St. John's University forward Dillon Mitchell with the 40th overall pick.
Boston’s G League affiliate is the Maine Celtics. The team plays at the Portland Exposition Building in Portland, Maine. They finished the 2025-26 season with an 18-18 record, the eighth-best mark in the Eastern Conference.
The Hoosiers finished the 2025-26 season with an 18-14 overall record and a 9-11 mark in Big Ten play, missing the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season. Indiana's season concluded with a 74-61 defeat to Northwestern in the Big Ten Tournament on March 11.
