IU won its Big Ten series with Illinois on the strength of freshman DH Alex Dickerson and junior catcher Josh Phegley's bats, as they posted three home runs.
Phegley lead IU to a 14-4 win in game 1 of the series, with two home runs and five RBI on a 3-for-4 day. Freshman pitcher Blake Monar (3-2) recovered from a rough start against Minnesota for a win. He threw for seven innings and struck out seven. Four other Hoosiers scored on the day.
IU then played a doubleheader today to fend off possible rain on Sunday.

He struck out six in becoming the first IU pitcher to ever go 10 innings. Dickerson finished the game with a walk-off home run in the 10th.
