The Hoosiers extended their win streak to three games, as IU defeated Cincinnati 16-4. Sophomore pitcher Joey O'Gara earned the victory after giving up only one earned run in three innings.
The important part of the game for the Hoosiers was the first inning. Five runs were scored on five hits and set the tone early on. IU extended their lead in the final three innings with 10 more runs including a three-run home run by sophomore Jerrud Sabourin.
The next test for the Hoosiers will be on Friday in Champaign, Ill. against Illinois. The Fighting Illini are an in-conference foe that is 17-5 on the season.
