For those of you who didn't know, Jamie Boswell of Wing It was injured last afternoon while riding in a pack during practice time at Bill Armstrong. At first, it looked as if she had broken her left hip. She was taken away in an ambulance, with captain Kristi Hewitt going along for support. Without Boswell, the team looked to be in pretty bad shape.
Luckily for her and for the team, Boswell will be okay. I got a call from their coach Tom Schwoegler last night around 11:15 saying he had just taken Boswell home and that X-rays and MRIs came back negative. While she was in tremendous pain, with race day three weeks away, all signs point to Wing It having its full roster of riders available.
Hewitt seemed relieved that Boswell was going to be fine.
"We are hoping for a speedy recovery," Hewitt said in an e-mail message.
