Yes this immortal quote from Jerry Maguire serves as the name for this blog post because these college journalists want to hear from you. Hoosier Hype has gotten off of its feet since its humble beginnings last year and we want some constructive criticism on anything related to the site: the style, the content, the organization, the interface, etc. As a young, naive sophomore I arrived on campus too late to know much about the old days of the Basketblog, but I hear it was quite the success.

Volleyball adds new assistant

Could the next Keith Schunzel be in town? According to a press release courtesy of IUHoosiers.com, the IU volleyball team has officially added Chris Kosty to its coaching staff. Prior to his arrival at IU, Kosty spent two seasons as head coach at North Idaho College.

IU Softball beats MSU 6-4

IU Softball (8-23, 1-4) beats Michigan State (16-18, 2-3) 6-4 to get their first Big Ten Victory. Junior catcher Cassie Gogreve drilled a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth inning to erase a two-run deficit. Junior pitcher Sara Olson (5-9) threw a complete game with six strikeouts and only gave up four hits. Senior outfielder Kelli Ritchison went two for four with a run in the game. The Hoosiers play the Spartans tomorrow 1 PM ET in Bloomington.

IU women's golf team in 1st place with final round remaining

Playing on its home golf course, the IU women's golf team will take a four shot lead into Sunday's third and final round at the Indiana Invitational. The Hoosiers are four shots clear of Iowa State, with four teams separated by six shots or less from IU. Senior Laura Nochta and freshman Pamela Burneski are in a tie for third place individually, both at one over par for the two rounds. Senior Kellye Belcher bounced back from an opening round 79 in the morning, with a 73 in the afternoon and is in 20th place individually. Freshman Jacqueline Yanch lowered her opening round score by five shots (79-74) and is in 28th place. One stroker higher than Yanch is junior Lauren Geiseckie in 32nd place. The IU women's golf team opened up Saturday's two rounds with a 304 in the morning before shooting a tournament low 291 in the afternoon. A team victory tomorrow would be the first win for the Hoosiers since capturing the Mountain View Intercollegiate in 2008.

IU men's golfer Chase Wright named Big Ten Golfer of the Week

Fresh off his first collegiate individual title, sophomore Chase Wright was named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week on Wednesday. The Muncie, Ind., native won the adidas Hoosier Invitational on Sunday by seven shots, and finished the tournament with a three round total of nine under par 204 Wright has had a great start to the 2010 spring season for the Hoosiers.

Men's golf dominates adidas Hoosier Invitational from start to finish

Needing every win it can get as postseason play rapidly approaches, the IU men's golf team swept the team and individual titles at the adidas Hoosier Invitational played at IU's Golf Course this weekend. As a team IU shot a three round total of 838, which is the third lowest in school history. Sophomore Chase Wright captured his first title of his college career as he finished the week with a nine under par 204 total. Fellow classmate, David Erdy finished second for the second straight season at the adidas Hoosier Invitational. Freshman Jon Beringer, playing at the number five spot, finished in third place in only his second college golf tournament. Continuing the streak of Hoosiers atop the individual leader board was freshman Brant Peaper in a tie for fourth place. The depth of IU's lineup showed in a 36-shot victory over second place Ball State even though its number one player, senior Alex Martin, was the fifth lowest Hoosier in seventh place individually. The Hoosiers will head up to Carmel, Ind., in two weeks to take part in the Crooked Stick Invitational, another tournament run by IU.

The women's tennis team pulled a inor upset this afternoon with a 6-1 win over Purdue. It was only the second loss of the season for the Boilermakers.

Indy having no problem choosing between Duke and Butler

It's a title game no one could have predicted and a matchup that couldn't be any more polarizing to the City of Indianapolis. On one side, the pride of the state, the beloved Butler Bulldogs. On the other side, arguably the most disdained team in the nation, the Duke Blue Devils. While there aren't many guarantees for Monday night, there are some good bets.
