Danes challenge eco study

Denmark’s reputation as a leader in sustainability was at an all-time high after December’s U.N. Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. A new study, however, reveals the country might not live up to its idyllic green image. Denmark ranked No. 32 with only average scores in the recent Environmental Performance Index released by researchers at Yale and Columbia Universities. Especially surprising was that Denmark was positioned in the same category as the United States, typically thought of as somewhat negligent in environmental conservation efforts.

Marine from Columbus, Ind., dies in Afghanistan

The military says a Marine from Indiana has died while supporting combat operations in Afghanistan. The Department of Defense announced Saturday that 27-year-old Sgt. Jeremy R. McQueary of Columbus, Ind., died Thursday in Helmand province.

Goshen college lifts 116-year ban on national anthem

GOSHEN, Ind. — For more than a century, there was no playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Goshen College — a small Christian college with ties to the Mennonite Church. That’s about to change. 'Twilight' act wins 1st in IU Sing Division B

IU takes 7-game slide to Minnesota

Back in January, the Hoosiers had gone through a three-game winning streak — two of those on the road — before the Gophers came to town. Traveling Holocaust Museum exhibit includes Nazi documents, photos

Huge crates that have been sitting in the lower level of the Indiana Memorial Union are scheduled to be opened Friday, revealing a part of history many students might not be aware of. The Holocaust Memorial Museum traveling exhibit from Washington, D.C., “Nazi Persecution of Homosexuals, 1933-1945,” will be on display in the IMU until April 25.
