Marine from Columbus, Ind., dies in Afghanistan

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The military says a Marine from Indiana has died while supporting combat operations in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense announced Saturday that 27-year-old Sgt. Jeremy R. McQueary of Columbus, Ind., died Thursday in Helmand province.

McQueary was assigned to 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, based in Camp Lejeune, N.C.
