Education No. 1 goal for team

Eighty-three members of the football team earned a 3.0 grade point average during the 2009-2010 academic year. Forty-two athletes earned the distinction in the fall and 41 athletes in the spring. 




Indy 500

Castroneves wins back-to-back poles

Helio Castroneves won the pole position Saturday for the 2010 Indianapolis 500, with an average speed of 227.970 miles per hour. He even put up one lap at 228 miles per hour, the fastest lap since 2006. His 2010 qualifying speeds were faster than last year’s qualifying speed by 3.1 miles per hour.

Ford corrals concert crowd

Ford performed Friday at the Bluebird Nightclub to a large and rowdy crowd. He is currently on a nationwide tour, which heads to Kentucky, Tennessee and Missouri before the month’s end.

In previous years, educators welcomed the new age of technology and encouraged students’ use of personal computers. But now, laptop computers seem to be more of a distraction than an extension of the learning process.

Six members of the women’s team earned a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the spring semester. Hoosiers earning this distinction include junior Danilsa Andujar, sophomore Jasmine Davis, senior Jori Davis, junior Lindsay Enterline, junior Georgie Jones and now-graduate Andrea McGuirt.

IU staff members step into fitness
