A fight between a teen and her babysitter Monday night resulted in an arrest after she tossed a knife at the sitter.
The 13-year-old girl was referred to juvenile probation after the altercation with her 27-year-old uncle , who was watching her and three other children during that time, at 2111 S. Rockport Road.
The two began arguing around 9 p.m. after he took her cell phone from her, and told her she was acting up. She told him she would hurt him if he didn’t return the phone.
After he didn’t she went to the closet and grabbed a baseball bat. He managed to remove it from her hands without getting hit. She then retreated to the kitchen and grabbed a large knife, and proceeded to chase him out of the house while throwing items at him.
He received lacerations from the knife when he was sitting in the front seat of his car, and she dropped the knife in through the crack of the window of the driver’s side door.
The girl faces preliminary charges of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and battery with a deadly weapon.
She was returned to the custody of her mother.
