Two Kokomo men arrested in connection with Little 500 robbery

Video surveillance footage from a North Walnut gas station has led to the arrests of two men involved in an armed robbery over Little 500 weekend.

Glenn Nathanial Allen Fred, 18, and Henry Deshawn Clayton, 22, of Kokomo, Ind. both face preliminary charges of two counts of armed robbery and two counts of robbery resulting in bodily injury, which are class B felonies. Their bonds are $100,000 surety or $1,000 cash.

On Saturday, April 24 four individuals were approached by Fred and Clayton in the Campus Court apartment complex around 3:24 a.m. They were stopped at knifepoint and told to hand over their wallets.

One victim told police he was struck on the face and with the knife when he refused to hand over his wallet, and a female victim was pushed to the ground by Clayton. A total of $72 in cash and several credit cards were taken.

Officers investigating the incident went to the Circle S gas station at 2110 N. Walnut St. to try to track down the assailants.

The clerk remembered a man matching the description of Clark, and after going through video footage, officers found the vehicle containing the suspects along with a license plate number. Officers tracked the vehicle to Kokomo, where the men were then arrested.
