Digital libraries get $3 million boost

·

It seems the second time is a charm for IU's digital music library. The University applied for a grant from the National Science Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities two years in a row. IU found out this week it will receive the $3 million grant for digital music library research.

Austin returns at 'Unforgiven'

·

Stone Cold Steve Austin made a triumphant return at the WWF pay-per-view "Unforgiven" Sunday night. Once he made his way to the ring, he was on a mission. His goal was to find the person who ran him over with a car 10 months ago, putting him on the injured list.

Women golfers place 8th at tourney

·

Some great scores, some not-so-great scores, but not enough good scores. It proved to be the downfall at times last season for the IU women's golf team, and the first tournament of the season was no exception this past weekend.

Siam House offers exotic cuisine

·

During the worst night of the school year thus far (in terms of weather) I decided to treat myself to an evening out for dinner at a place that might serve something to warm me up. Fortunately for my companion and I, Siam House was the perfect place.

Greeks invade the bar scene

·

I have a problem. Actually, I have many problems, but since I don't have the time or patience to discuss all of them in this forum, I'll limit myself to one. My problem is with the migration of the party scene from the fraternity houses to the bars.

No one to blame but myself

·

Blame. In the last week or so, a series of events occurred about which I was prepared to write my column. To some people, the events were inconsequential, but they bothered and upset me. I was going to write about how the Business Placement Office caters only to a small percentage of the University. Or, I was going to write about how people can complain about the actions of others and then turn around and do the same thing.

Declawing the 'cats

They scored in bunches. They made big plays on special teams. And most importantly, they stopped the opponent from scoring.

"After all, I'm no good," broods Michel Poiccard (Jean-Paul Belmondo) in the opening moment of Jean-Luc Godard's brilliant 1960 work "Breathless."

Restaurant Review: City Grille

City Grille, 216 S. College Ave., has a pleasant dining atmosphere. Large screen televisions allowed us to watch the Olympics from several different vantage points, which we appreciated. We also enjoyed the other decor, including a city scene on a wall and street signs sprinkled around the dining area.
