Five men were taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital late Thursday night from Kilroy’s Sports Bar after taking an unknown drug, the Bloomington Police Department confirmed to the Indiana Daily Student.
Police said the men took a “bump” of a substance they believed to be cocaine, which one of them had purchased earlier, in the bathroom of the bar. They reported feeling “bad” almost immediately after ingesting the substance, according to police.
Two of the men were unconscious or semi-conscious in the alley behind Kilroy’s when emergency responders arrived, while the other three were also exhibiting adverse symptoms inside the bar, police said. They were all in stable condition as of Friday afternoon.
Police were unable to find any of the substance, as the men told police they “discarded” the remainder of it after realizing its effects.
A BPD investigation is ongoing, and none of the men face criminal charges, police said.
