Pitchfork Music Festival rocks Chicago

This weekend, Chicago’s Union Park hosted the sold-out Pitchfork Music Festival. The mission of the festival was to showcase the best independent artists around at an affordable price.

Body found in Griffy Lake identified Friday afternoon

Local authorities are investigating a body found in Griffy Lake on Thursday afternoon. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources and the Bloomington Police, Sheriff’s and Fire Departments were all on the scene. Indiana State Police were assisting as well.

Umphreakin Out! Making it into my favorite band's DVD

Standing in the front row of the balcony, I knew I was in for a big night. Having arrived early enough to obtain these seats, I was able to soak in my surroundings. The theme of the weekend was the Big Top, and the stage was set accordingly. Camera rigs and cranes were visible on the sides of the venue and on the stage. Wheels were already in motion for what was set to be Umphrey's McGee's second music DVD.

Velvet Revolver Libertad : B+

The album is a little more audience-friendly than any of Velvet Revolver's other rock counterparts in the industry today, which is sure to make it a hit. Just ask Sammy Hagar.

License to Wed

I wouldn't recommend seeing this movie if you pee standing up. But if you want to see it and miss your opportunity, don't worry. I saw previews for about five more movies coming out that have the same plot, so just see one of those.

Smashing Pumpkins Zeitgeist : B-

The main problem, instead, is that not much of "Zeitgeist" is particularly memorable -- which is disappointing, given that Corgan's ability to pen a sharp, hook-laden tune was what elevated the band above their '90s heavy-rock peers in the first place.
