"Mockingbird" to premiere at Buskirk-Chumley

“To Kill A Mockingbird” is a collaboration with IU College of Arts and Sciences’ 2012 Themester “Good Behavior, Bad Behavior: Molecules of Morality.” The production will run Sept. 6-16, with an opening performance at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7.

Starting in July, the City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation organized free summer concerts in the park featuring local artists. From 6:30 to 8 p.m. every Sunday until Aug. 26, the park will continue the shows.

The Venue Fine Art & Gifts is featuring Marco Zehrung’s abstract acrylic paintings in an exhibit titled “Articulture” until Thursday. Zehrung describes his paintings as “non-figurative abstract.”

On the second Saturday of every month, the Fair of the Arts sets up in the Bloomington Farmers’ Market. Vendors sell a variety of arts and crafts from stalls across from stands of fresh fruit and flowers.

It’s hard to stroll the streets of Taiwan without seeing a few skinny dogs digging through the neighborhood dumpster. It’s no secret that this country has long suffered a serious stray dog problem due to the lack of animal shelters.

IU professor’s art part of Summer Olympics exhibit

Edward Bernstein, head of the printmaking department at the Henry Radford Hope School of Fine Arts at IU, will have his artwork, titled “Illuminata,” on display at the Barbican Centre in London. The artwork will be a part of “The River Thames, the Great Wall of China — Embrace the World,” an international juried exhibition in honor of the Summer Olympics.
