The IU Athletic Department recently named sophomore point guard Whitney Lindsay as one of two IU Scholar Athletes for the month of October. Lindsay, a Mansfield, Ohio native, saw action in 33 games during her freshman year and scored a career high 8 points against Michigan State on Feb.

This afternoon, IU's next athletics director, Fred Glass, sat down with Associated Press writer Mike Marot and myself and answered questions for about a half an hour.

Coach Tom Crean was at the press conference to welcome Fred Glass to IU. Crean spoke with the media afterwards, I got in on it a little late but here is some of what he had to say: On the importance of Glass being an 'Indiana Guy' Crean: "I'm not an Indiana guy, but I feel pretty strong about Indiana and I have a pretty strong passion for Indiana.
Per IU spokesperson Larry MacIntyre, Glass will make $410,000 annually, and he will be treated as an employee of the University, meaning he will not have a contract specifically.
