Fred Glass is your new IU Director of Athletics. Old news (though check out the previous post with all the IDS coverage). What you may not know is that a four-star Class of 2010 recruit is expected to take an unofficial visit to IU next month.

Kyrie Irving, a recent transfer to (yet another) New Jersey powerhouse, St. Patrick High School, will be on campus for the first regular season game (Nov. 15) of the Tom Crean era, the recruit told HoosierNation.com and Peegs.com.

Although Irving calls himself a combo guard, the St. Patrick junior as listed as a point guard, and a good one at that. The 6-foot-2 prospect is the No. 4 point guard in the Class of 2010 (No. 27 overall), according to Rivals.com, while Scout.com lists Irving as the No. 8 point guard (No. 44 overall) in the class.

As sophomore at Montclair Kimberley Academy last season, Irving averaged nearly 28 points per game.

Irving's Nov. 15 visit will come a week after five-star 2009 recruit Dominic Cheek is in town for an official visit. Both Cheek and Irving are part of a potential Garden State pipeline for the Hoosiers, thanks to IU assistant and New Jersey native Roshown McLeod.

On another note, Maurice Creek, set to join the Hoosiers next season, shined in a scrimmage verus Oak Hill Academy last week (25 points). Here's a write up on the scrimmage by Bob Gibbons of Scouts, Inc.

And on ANOTHER note, Rivals.com has tabbed the IU rebuilding process as the No. 13 storyline of the 2008-09 season. Not a lucky number at all.
