Per IU spokesperson Larry MacIntyre, Glass will make $410,000 annually, and he will be treated as an employee of the University, meaning he will not have a contract specifically. Rick Greenspan had signed two summers ago a contract extension through 2013.

Other housekeeping, note-dump flim-flammery: --Glass said he and his wife plan to find a house/condo in Bloomington, as he called this a "Bloomington job." However, with two sons still in school, his family will stay in Indianapolis for the time being, so his children can keep some continuity.

--The job of athletics director was offered to Glass "late last week," according to the man himself, and he accepted "immediately.

--Glass said he talked to Jack Swarbrick, a former colleague at Baker & Daniels, now the athletics director at Notre Dame. He said Swarbrick offered him encouragement and advice about the job upon which he would soon embark.

We'll have more from Matt Dollinger, who just got back from a meeting with Glass, in a bit.
